New pediatric mental health practice accepting patients in Manheim Township. A new pediatric mental health clinic has opened in Manheim Township. Blackbird Health, a mid-Atlantic pediatric mental health provider, opened its ninth Pennsylvania office at 1390 Harrisburg Pike June 1. "As a new clinic serving a new market, we're starting with a smaller in-person team and plan to grow alongside community demand," said Abigail Tuller, content marketing director for Blackbird. "The Lancaster office currently includes a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and two therapists, with additional clinical positions actively being recruited." The practice is hiring two child and adolescent therapists and is accepting applicants to its psychiatric nurse residency program. Blackbird is renting the 700-square-foot office, Tuller said. The clinic provides child and mental health services, including evaluations and assessments, individual therapy services, medication management and family support. Blackbird accepts most major insurance plans including some Children's Health Insurance Program plans. Currently the practice doesn't accept Medicaid, but patients on Medicaid can contact Blackbird to discuss options, Tuller said. The practice is accepting new patients, and as of Wednesday, there was not a waitlist for appointments. "Families shouldn't have to wait months or travel hours to get answers for their child," said Dr. Michael Tang, child and adolescent psychiatrist and chief medical officer at Blackbird Health. Blackbird Health has opened a new pediatric mental health clinic in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, addressing a shortage of accessible mental healthcare for children in Central Pennsylvania. Located at 1390 Harrisburg Pike, the clinic began operations on 1 June 2026. The facility offers mental health evaluations, therapy, medication management and coordinated care for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioural concerns and neurodivergent conditions. According to CDC data, one in five children aged 3–17 has a diagnosed mental, emotional or behavioural health condition. Blackbird Health, a Mid-Atlantic pediatric mental health provider, emphasises whole-child, whole-family care and plans to collaborate with local paediatricians, educators and community organisations. Services are available in person and virtually, covered by most major insurance plans.

Blackbird Health has appointed Michael Tang as Chief Medical Officer, effective 2 March. Tang, a quadruple board-certified child psychiatrist, adult psychiatrist, paediatrician and addiction medicine physician, joins from Cityblock Health, where he served as Vice President of Integrated Care and Head of Behavioural Health. He succeeds Nicole Garber, who is stepping down to focus on eating disorders advocacy. Tang previously served as Chief Behavioural Health Officer at The Dimock Center in Boston and completed his training at Boston Children's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. Blackbird Health provides paediatric mental health care for children with ADHD, anxiety and autism spectrum disorder across Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Northern Virginia, with additional expansion planned throughout 2026.
