- High school education or equivalent is required, and a GED is accepted.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow production and preparation sheets.
- Required food handler certifications.
- Ability to understand food measurements and equivalents.
- Willingness to work and interact with active and senior adults.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Set up the dining area properly and fold dining room linens.
- Provide meal, dining, and table service to residents, guests, and staff.
- Present menus, answer questions, make suggestions about food and service, and explain posted daily specials.
- Write orders on checks, provide copies to diners and the Dining Room Supervisor, and use the full Count point-of-sale system properly.
- Relay orders to the kitchen and serve beverages and courses from the kitchen or buffet station.
- Pace course delivery and sequence according to established procedures so diners receive food at the proper temperature and enjoy each course comfortably.
- Serve water and other beverages and refresh beverages throughout the meal service.
- Clear and reset counters and tables at the conclusion of each course.
- Keep tables, chairs, floors, linens, and serving stations clean, bussed, and stocked.
- Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full-service active adult or senior living.
