Wayfair Professional has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past three years, and we are seeking a relentlessly curious, solutions-oriented Manager to join the B2B Insights & Analytics team focusing on performance measurement and data-driven insights.
The B2B Insights & Analytics team plays an integral role in driving optimal decision-making that improves our business customers’ FF&E shopping experience while improving process efficiency. This team leads measurement - particularly around causal inference - and also plays a data challenger role to ensure that we understand the “why” behind great customer experiences. We partner closely with business stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, and Category Management) along with our data partners (Data Science and Data Engineering) - to ensure we drive meaningful business value through data and insights.
About the role:
In this highly visible role, you will be a key contributor and lead strategy and analytics work for one or more teams within B2B. This role requires a blend of analytical experience, business acumen, strong communication, strategic thinking, and leadership experience. All these skill sets will be applied in tandem with understanding customer behavior and business performance to drive revenue growth strategy, better customer experience, operational efficiency, and profitability. Whether you’re measuring operational performance, analyzing customer behavior trends, or optimizing scripts, you will be working with cutting-edge technology and multi-terabyte datasets. You will think critically to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Build a strong understanding of B2B sales operations and KPIs that impact overall business performance such as call efficiency, conversion rates, etc.
- Work with several large and complex databases and wrangle data from multiple sources including sales, product, and customer databases to create visualizations and derive insights used for decision-making
- Establish a roadmap and develop standards for reporting through partnerships with business stakeholders & the Data Engineering team
- Manage off-shore reporting and analytics teams
- Partner with other leaders across the STO and provide thought leadership and expertise on topics such as disaggregating performance drivers, measurement of key initiatives over the appropriate long-term timeframe, customer segment level analysis and measurement, drivers of customer satisfaction, customer journey analysis, etc.
- Lead measurement and reporting for ongoing initiative review processes by synthesizing performance analysis reports across major initiatives and by providing a succinct view to the senior leadership team using tools such as Looker, SQL, and Data Studio
- Automate and streamline business performance reporting by leading efforts with internal Engineering teams and Looker
- Proactively contribute to developing the organization’s talent & management (either direct reports or indirectly through cross-functional or project work): do so by offering timely feedback on work product, offering career development advice, or contributing to workstreams to improve talent development within their team/function/etc
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, or Finance
- Prior consulting experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional team
- Experience designing and implementing highly visible, complex, and innovative analytical solutions that drive business decision making
- 5+ years of relevant analytical experience in operating with large data sets, extracting insights, and presenting recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership
- 2+ years of experience managing a team
- Experience with SQL or GBQ and structured computer programming language(s) (e.g. Python, Java, R)
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Data Studio, Tableau)
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical abilities along with problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated success influencing senior-level stakeholders on a strategic direction based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis; Strong written and verbal communication.
