Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in software engineering, computational finance, Mathematics, Economics or Finance or similar is required for this position.
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA and programming, with experience in, or a strong desire to learn: Python, SQL, JavaScript, is required.
  • Extremely strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail. Ability to learn quickly, question results, problem solve, and provide solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Perform Investment performance calculations, contribution reports and holdings-based analytics for TDAM's real asset mandates.
  • Create various dashboards/scorecards to help the alternatives team visualize the outcome of various investment decisions.
  • Maintain data mapping tables and ensure all tables across hub, security master and alternatives security interface are accurate and reflect the most recent attributes.
  • Participate in various projects and initiatives around Alternative performance reporting.
  • Support marketing and RFPs performance data request for real asset mandates.
  • Research, propose, and enhance current performance measurement methodologies for existing and new real asset mandates.
  • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk activities as necessary.
  • Ensure documentation that is prepared / completed is accurate and properly reflects client / business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations.
  • Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business and the alternative investment space, related tools and techniques.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including across training within own team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of, or working towards, the CFA designations is an asset.
  • Past co-op experience in asset management or equivalent is preferred.
