Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of relevant experience or Master of Science in a STEM discipline (for Software Engineer)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience or Master of Science in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience (for Principal Software Engineer)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer/engineering software development using C++ (preferred), C#, Java or other object-oriented computer language
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Development of software to simulate real-time operations and behavior of systems for virtual simulation (pilot-in-the-loop) experimentation and requirements validation
  • Developing new and/or integrating existing system simulation frameworks, weapon system components to include air vehicle platform, kinematics, sensors, weapons, command & control, and threat performance models and algorithms
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop computer simulations of aircraft and weapon systems and integrating those models with the larger simulation
  • Integrating and using advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools
  • Modeling operational environments and performing trade studies via computer simulation resulting in recommendations for system architectures and configurations
  • May support the design and development of visualization models and databases for integration with a high-fidelity simulation environment.

  • An understanding of Integrated Air Defense Systems and capabilities
  • An understanding of operational Command and Control systems and software
  • Proven ability to work with a team in a rapid prototyping environment
  • Competent writing and communication skills
  • Experience performing weapon system level design, integration, or test & evaluation
  • Ability to translate physics/mathematics models into real-time simulation algorithms
  • Experience with real time simulation/software development
