Overview: The Staff Software Engineer is a fast-paced position in a rapid growth enterprise environment.   The Engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the software, hardware, network, and computing technologies that power all of Inovalon’s services. We are the foundation upon which Inovalon’s innovations are built, from high octane data analytics horsepower to insightful healthcare data solutions that will change the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research, evaluate and utilize new technologies/tools/frameworks centered around high-volume data processing in AWS;
Document and estimate technical scope and design as needed;
Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages prevalent in the big data ecosystem;
Involve and Drive a culture of collaborative reviews of designs, code and test plans;
Work with business stake holders and architecture engineering leads to ensure quality solutions are implemented and engineering standard methodologies adhered to;
DevOps Focus -Utilize and advance continuous integration and deployment frameworks;
Solve complex data issues and perform root cause analysis;
Work across teams to resolve operational & performance issues;
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.

Job Requirements:

Programming experience in C#.NET or Java
Front-end experience in Angular
Database experience with SQL Server, or similar database technologies
Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
Expertise in designing software systems
Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & monitoring
Assess the current platform architecture and recommend necessary changes while adopting the ideal tech stack to maximize efficiency, and user experience, and empower business teams

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field; or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
Travel for this position is expected to be approximately 5%, typically for training purposes.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range

$122,721—$160,000 USD
