The Job:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be part of our Industrial team working as an on-site employee. This position will evaluate, develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes within our sheetmetal manufacturing facility with the goal of optimizing safety, quality, cost, and productivity. Responsibilities and expectations for this role will develop and grow as the individual expands their knowledge and skills in this position. You’ll get to:
- Document existing processes using process flow diagrams, standard work, part routings and bills of material.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout for various manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by using Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Tools, applying knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, materials and soliciting observations from operators.
- Implementation of process control plans.
- Function as technical liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issue, and drive process and product improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of, and update management of, technology advances as they apply to capital equipment, tooling, fixturing, controls, and their relevant impact on future operations.
- Designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
- Specify and procure new fixtures, equipment and tooling needed to meet production and quality requirements
- Troubleshoot shop issues involving equipment, machinery, tooling and lead solution implementation.
- Support and or lead Value Stream and Manufacturing Cells Implementation for continuous improvement and positive change.
- Work with Design Engineering, Procurement, and Quality Assurance functions to resolve production issues and or implement improvements.
- Collects data for predetermined metrics including: Overall first pass yield, Lean/Kaizen implementation, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARS), Deviations.

- BS in Chemical and/or Mechanical and/or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Understanding and/or exposure to the manufacturing of Sheetmetal components.
- Exposure to manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of CAD (prefer Pro-E) and CAM programs
- Training in Lean Six Sigma and other continuous process improvement initiatives
- Core competencies including: Action Oriented, Creativity, Functional/Technical Skills, Intellectual Horsepower, Problem Solving, Drive For Results, Technical Learning.
