Requirements
  • 2+ years of analytical experience (may include an internship) that was focused on food and beverage retailing or merchandising, or sales experience from any industry.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, initiate action and adjust to change are key attributes of this role.
  • Proficient in the use of all category management software, concepts, analytical techniques; have an understanding of syndicated data.
  • Expert knowledge of JDA/Space Planning/Blue Yonder system usage and output, including the application of measures contained within.
  • Strong PC proficiency, including extremely strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Ability to travel by plane approximately 20%.
Responsibilities
  • Gather and combine complementary data from multiple sources. Manipulate, cleanse, analyze, and validate data.
  • Interpret data, draw conclusions, and develop insights and presentations.
  • Conducts space planning, drawing and validation of sets projects.
  • Follow store clustering, customer segmentation, store data standards, and merchandising guidelines.
  • Updates, manages, and refines scorecards and reports to measure results.
  • Coordinate with IT and technical teams to ensure efficient use of technology.
  • Engage with Category Leadership team, Sales, and retailer partners to plan, meet expectations and ensure successful completion of assortment and space planning projects.
  • Present recommendations for space allocation/optimization and assortment planning.
  • Provide input to development of consistent assortment and planogram standards across retailers and trade channels, ensure adherence to standards.
  • Support space and assortment opportunities aligned with the strategic direction of Category Leadership activities.
  • Train to become an expert user of space planning and assortment software, processes, and solutions.
  • Supports the CLM with the development of category insights, solutions, and presentations, including but not limited to new item introductions, package expansion/reduction, assortment analysis (pre/post), promotion effectiveness, seasonality, and post-promotion analysis.
  • Prepares CM analysis and creates presentation slides for various meetings.
  • Attend and participate in business planning meetings as necessary.
  • Populates scorecards.
  • Generates reports.
  • Seeks clarification or understanding as necessary.
