Their drones can take off and land almost anywhere, making them suitable for transporting essential supplies like meals, batteries, and medical equipment. Skyways primarily serves military operations, remote industrial sites, and emergency response teams, providing a safe alternative to traditional transportation methods. What sets Skyways apart from competitors is their focus on cost-efficient logistics solutions that leverage electric propulsion and advanced energy storage. Skyways, a designer and manufacturer of long-range autonomous unmanned cargo aircraft systems, today announced it has secured a $5 million credit investment from Leonid Capital Partners.
Skyways has secured a $5 million debt facility to boost the production of its autonomous cargo drones for the U.S. Department of Defense. Co-Founding Partner Chris Lay of Leonid Capital Partners stated that Skyways is setting the standard for next-generation aerial logistics.
“Skyways is setting the standard for next-generation aerial logistics,” said Co-Founding Partner Chris Lay of Leonid Capital Partners.
Skyways, founded in 2017, received $37 million from the USAF's AFWERX program to develop its V3 drone, which can carry a 100 lb payload, fly over 1,000 miles, and stay airborne for more than 20 hours. The funding will help finalize the V3's production design and ramp up mass manufacturing. Skyways' lean, hands-on engineering approach allows rapid development and cost savings, positioning the company to impact military and commercial drone logistics significantly.
