Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree with 10 or more years of academic or industry experience in inertial sensing, computer vision, robotics, or related fields, with shipped or published work, or a Master of Science degree with 8 or more years of such experience.
  • A strong background in linear algebra, simultaneous localization and mapping, visual-inertial odometry, and structure-from-motion.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python, including experience with real-time optimization.
  • Familiarity with libraries such as OpenCV and Ceres.
  • Knowledge of sensor modeling, calibration, and noise characteristics.
  • Experience with real-time processing pipelines on embedded or edge hardware.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic estimation and filtering, including extended Kalman filters or factor-graph optimization.
  • All candidates must be a U.S. Person and must provide documentation verifying U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected-individual status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize sensor-fusion algorithms combining inertial measurement unit and camera data for simultaneous localization and mapping and visual-inertial odometry.
  • Implement state-of-the-art structure-from-motion techniques using different sensor modalities to generate consistent three-dimensional reconstructions.
  • Build calibration and synchronization pipelines across multiple sensor types.
  • Evaluate algorithms against public benchmarks and real-world datasets.
  • Integrate outputs into higher-level autonomy or collaborative mapping systems, including shared mapping systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, robotics, and platform teams to ensure end-to-end performance.
  • Define metrics, testing frameworks, and deployment strategies for production-ready perception systems.
