Responsibilities
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivables, and pre-paids.
  • Prepare and upload journal entries.
  • Maintain and record fixed asset records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting packages.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable ledger including invoicing, collections and working directly with customers and internal sales team.
  • Support the annual budget process by managing related tools and templates and participating in business strategy meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of MLS related reporting (post-game reporting, etc.).
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparation of audit requests by providing schedules, documentation, and analysis to external auditors.
  • Prepare tax-related filings.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

One of the most influential figures in LAFC and Major League Soccer history, Vela becomes the latest former player to transition into ownership with the club he helped build from its inception. His addition to the ownership group reflects LAFC's belief in continuity, leadership, and honoring those who have shaped the club's identity on and off the pitch. "LAFC has always been more than a club to me - it is home," Vela said. "From the first day, we set out to build something special for Los Angeles, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. Vela joined LAFC as the first player in club history when he signed as a Designated Player in August 2017 ahead of the club's inaugural 2018 season.
