Responsibilities
  • Support the administration of Family and Medical Leave Act-related leave-of-absence cases in partnership with the third-party administrator.
  • Act as a liaison between associates and third-party Family and Medical Leave Act and disability administrators to support appropriate case management.
  • Evaluate requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act for associates in the Home Office, Agency field, and Gerber Life.
  • Conduct interactive conversations with associates, review information from associates and medical providers, assess the reasonableness of accommodations, document the process and approvals, partner with Law, Human Resources, and the Business Unit, and provide continued case oversight.
  • Manage associate timecards when leave is applied in the company timekeeping system, enter time off according to the payroll schedule and third-party administrator reports, and apply short-term disability pay according to plan provisions, company policies, and administrator approvals.
  • Process incoming workers’ compensation claims, support third-party administrators with claim management, and evaluate claims for settlement opportunities in consultation with the Senior Leave Administrator and management.
  • Investigate and correct pay adjustments related to prior-period absences, workers’ compensation, or state disability insurance benefits, working with the Senior Leave Administrator, management, and Payroll on complex cases.
  • Communicate with associates at all company levels in writing and verbally.
  • Assist with implementing procedural and system changes.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, concerning privacy, security, confidentiality, and protection of personal and health information.
  • Perform other assigned duties and comply with company policies and standards.
