Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
  • Two years of human resources experience are required.
  • Knowledge and practical application experience of federal labour and employment law, Employment Equity, the Canadian Human Rights Code, and Canada Labour Code Part II are preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, human resources information systems, and timekeeping systems such as Kronos and Workday is required.
  • Candidates must possess sensitivity and tact when dealing with employees and leadership.
  • Candidates must be able to work creatively and under minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must have time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail.
  • Candidates must be able to manage competing and changing priorities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, is required.
  • Candidates must have professional verbal, reading, and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must be willing to learn new applications, software, systems, and equipment as required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Candidates must be able and willing to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line support and guidance to leadership across human resources functional areas, ensuring actions and decisions consider fairness and precedent.
  • Support employees with a safe and early return to work from provincial workplace insurance plans and short-term and long-term disability.
  • Assist with salary and hourly payrolls, including reviewing and verifying payroll reports and documents for accuracy.
  • Work closely with FedEx Freight Learning and Development to maintain accurate operational and regulatory education files and manage the Tuition Assistance program.
  • Support field human resources in the absence of Human Resources Business Partners.
  • Build relationships with key partners, including third-party vendors in benefits, recruitment, education, and other operating companies.
  • Administer the employee benefit plan, including answering employee questions, processing monthly invoices, and managing annual re-enrolment.
  • Manage the annual performance management and management-by-objectives process.
  • Assist with maintaining compensation matrices, administering pay increases, preparing AIC and IC calculations, completing year-end reconciliations, and rolling out changes when applicable.
  • Create and maintain human resources documentation, including job descriptions, company policies and procedures, and job aids.
  • Complete annual Employment Equity reporting and human resources and payroll-related government filings and surveys, and participate in the annual Employee Survey.
  • Participate in new and ongoing human resources projects.
  • Create ad hoc reports and maintain, collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual English and French language skills are preferred and are required in Quebec.
