Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Research, Evaluation, Indigenous Governance, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in quality assurance, program evaluation, research, or data management.
  • Experience working with First Nation communities or Indigenous-led projects.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing reports, validating data, and ensuring methodological integrity.
  • Working knowledge of community resources and development.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Child, Youth and Family Services Act and other relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child welfare systems.
  • Knowledge of M’Chigeeng First Nation governance matters and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of First Nations child and family matters and interests.
  • Strong understanding of Anishinaabe culture, values, governance, and community protocols.
  • Knowledge of child and family services, prevention frameworks, and Indigenous jurisdiction initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data tracking tools, and reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity.
  • A clear CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Year 1 quality assurance framework aligned with engagement, research, service review, and prevention model activities.
  • Establish quality standards for documentation, data collection, reporting, and community engagement processes.
  • Ensure methods reflect Anishinaabe values, cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and ethical research principles.
  • Monitor adherence to timelines, deliverables, and Indigenous Services Canada jurisdiction readiness requirements.
  • Identify risks, gaps, or deviations from the workplan and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and validate qualitative and quantitative data collected through engagement sessions, surveys, interviews, and service reviews.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data before analysis or reporting.
  • Maintain secure, confidential, and culturally respectful data management systems.
  • Support development and validation of the Comprehensive Needs Assessment, Service Gap Analysis, Engagement Summaries, and Thematic Reports.
  • Identify inconsistencies or missing information and work with engagement and research teams to resolve them.
  • Track Year 1 performance indicators, including the number and diversity of engagement sessions, participation metrics, emerging themes and findings, and service review outcomes.
  • Develop monitoring tools such as checklists, templates, and tracking sheets.
  • Analyze progress against milestones and identify areas requiring adjustment.
  • Provide quality assurance insights to strengthen methodologies and ensure alignment with the prevention continuum and community care model.
  • Review and refine draft reports prepared by engagement, research, and service review teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet standards for clarity, accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and Indigenous Services Canada documentation requirements.
  • Prepare quality assurance summaries, analysis reports, and findings for Chief Council, Elders and advisory groups, Indigenous Services Canada Quarterly Progress Reports, the Coordinator, and Enaagdenjged.
  • Support the Coordinator in preparing planning documents, recommendations, and governance updates.
  • Review assessments of Prevention Services, First Nation Representative Services, Post-Majority Support Services, and Jordan’s Principle Services.
  • Validate that service review findings accurately reflect community needs, strengths, and gaps.
  • Ensure alignment between service review outcomes and the emerging prevention continuum and community care model.
  • Observe engagement sessions, as appropriate, to ensure adherence to cultural protocols, trauma-informed practice, and respectful facilitation.
  • Provide feedback to the Community Engagement team to strengthen documentation quality and engagement processes.
  • Ensure lived experiences and community voices are captured ethically, respectfully, and accurately.
  • Support quality assurance processes for advisory meetings, Elder guidance sessions, and governance structures.
  • Ensure decisions, recommendations, and cultural teachings are accurately documented and integrated into project outputs.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and culturally grounded decision-making throughout Year 1 activities.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, tools, and methodologies across engagement, research, and reporting.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance quality, cultural safety, and methodological integrity.
  • Contribute to long-term quality assurance systems supporting Years 2–5 of law development and jurisdiction implementation.
  • Participate in regular supervision with the Coordinator, including guidance, performance feedback, and support for continuous improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Produce high-quality written materials, communications, and documentation using computer and office technology.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Establish and maintain positive relations with government and organizational contacts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of program, personnel, and client information.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute activities and deliverables for Year 1 under delegated authority.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements and participate in program reviews and audits as required.
  • Uphold organizational standards, legislative requirements, and community expectations.
  • Travel within M’Chigeeng First Nation and surrounding areas for on-site reviews, staff support, and program monitoring as required.

Desired Qualifications
