- At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- ASE certification is preferred, or the candidate should have a plan to achieve it.
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- Ability to meet or exceed hourly goals.
- Ability to learn additional skills and processes.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the candidate's head.
- Ability to work in tight spaces as required by vehicle repairs.
- Dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
- Ability to walk and stand for most of the workday.
- Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive knowledge and skills.
- Build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively as part of a team.
- Follow and promote standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work with the service department to communicate concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- ASE certification.
