Network Security Engineer, Senior

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable USSPACECOM to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a seasoned network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network USSPACECOM needs. 

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network security architecture to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll highly secure enterprise datacenter networks, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.  

You’ll apply your expertise in secure network design as you guide our team of problem-solvers to USSPACECOM deploy mission capable networks.

You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience working in a network engineering role
• 3+ years of experience working with Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)
• 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining network drawings
• 3+ years of experience applying STIGs for IA compliance
• Experience with networking protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, QoS, vPC/mLAG/cLAG, or vxLAN
• Knowledge of network security concepts, including VPNs, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) or intrusion prevention systems (IPS), network segmentation, VRFs, and traffic filtering
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• IAT Level II Certification, including Security+ CE or Cisco CCNA Certification

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with software defined networks (SDN)
• Experience deploying virtual firewalls
• Experience with network designs using Zero Trust principles
• Knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering
• CCNA or CCNP Certification
• CASP or CISSP Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
