Kitchen Hand / Dish Washer

Job Description

What you will be doing:

• Wash and sanitize all plates, cutlery, glassware, and heavy kitchen equipment (like large pots, pans, and trays). 
• Clean, sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors, walls, and all work surfaces to keep the kitchen safe and hygienic.
• Safely operate commercial dishwashers and use cleaning chemicals correctly according to kitchen safety rules.
• Empty rubbish bins regularly, sort recycling, and keep the bin area clean.
• Help the chefs with basic food prep (like peeling vegetables) when needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or café, with a strong desire to learn and keep high standards is highly regarded
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP, plus a Food Handler certificate (or happy to obtain one).
• Able to work fast in a busy kitchen, stand for long periods of time, and lift heavy items.
• Punctual, reliable, and available to work on a rotating roster (mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
