Requirements
  • Experience in steel service center order processing.
  • Experience in quality inspection and use of quality tools.
  • An associate or technical degree, or experience in the industry.
  • Good computer and document-processing ability.
  • Ability to work in an organized and detail-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
Responsibilities
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements, quality management system requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Perform inspections on outbound orders according to OPS-02, Order Processing and Final Inspection.
  • Report deficiencies to the supervisor, management, and/or Quality department.
  • Scan and email inspection reports resulting from order processing to the appropriate recipients, including Sales Assistants, Shipping, and Quality.
  • Use quality instruments to verify material requirements.
  • Maintain product traceability, including description, heat number, lot number, and serial number.
  • Inspect machined parts requiring stringent straightness verification.
  • Inspect material as required by operations.
  • Manage the service and calibration of all inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
  • Maintain the facility and support continual improvement.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
