Requirements
  • At least 2 years of Workday Finance, HCM, or Student experience, including report writing and integrations.
  • Experience with highly complex integrations, preferably between Finance, Payroll, Admissions, Registration, Advancement, and Academic Administration, using Workday tools.
  • Knowledge of Workday HCM, Finance, and/or Student module concepts and capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Studio development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday EIB, RaaS, and Web Services.
  • Strong working knowledge of SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, and Java.
  • Workday integrations experience with a good understanding of integration design, testing concepts, and integration frameworks such as middleware and transformation logic.
  • Knowledge of all phases of the system development lifecycle, including production support.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication focused on documentation, along with interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize effectively while demonstrating urgency.
  • A BA degree in a technology field or commensurate professional experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday and third-party systems integrations.
  • Create technical design specifications, perform unit and system integration testing, and deploy and support Workday and third-party system integrations.
  • Build efficient solutions using the Workday platform, middleware tools, and the related capabilities of source and target systems.
  • Configure and develop technical integrations using Workday Studio, Workday RaaS integrations, Enterprise Interface Builder, complex calculated fields, Web Services, Workday custom reports, XSLT, and XPath.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and document requirements, review designs, and define functional specifications.
  • Manage Workday integration analysis, system configurations, and production deployment.
  • Lead third-party vendor integration projects from discovery through design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Learn University business processes and translate them into manual, semi-automated, and automated processes.
  • Understand the University enterprise systems portfolio and how third-party applications interact with Workday.
  • Understand inbound and outbound data integrations, monitor system health, scheduled jobs, alerts, and notifications.
  • Participate in semi-yearly Workday release reviews and testing, identify impacts and enhancement opportunities, and coordinate integration-testing prerequisites.
  • Monitor and resolve enterprise-system support tickets and collaborate with functional leads on escalated issues.
  • Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, and designs supporting the complete integration deployment lifecycle.
  • Research integration failures, perform root-cause analyses, and report findings to management and business leaders.
  • Collaborate with functional leads, analysts, and system administrators on system operations, security, business processes, and integrations.
  • Assist functional leads in configuring complex business processes, including calculated fields and advanced routing rules.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Workday products, administration best practices, and agile methodology best practices.
  • Evaluate Workday releases, updates, and new features for potential impact on University processes.
  • Research releases and upgrades and provide recommendations regarding organizational use.
  • Contribute to product vision and drive team planning.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for large collections of Workday integrations.
  • Work with business stakeholders to determine problem areas and project impact.
  • Develop plans supporting the end-to-end enterprise systems strategy.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and ITS team members to align objectives and programs.
  • Help manage timelines and deliverables within large, multi-month projects.
  • Understand data flows and system usage between internal systems and Workday, driving alignment with other system owners.
  • Participate in enterprise user-group meetings and facilitate discussions when needed.
  • Serve as a Workday reporting authority and optimize reporting capabilities based on Workday functionality, design concepts, and integration points.
  • Translate business requirements into Workday reporting solutions, including discovery boards, reports, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Produce and review audit reports assessing integration performance and error handling.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting frameworks supporting operational excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Current or past Workday Studio Integration Certification.
  • Experience with Workday Studio, Orchestrate, and Prism.
  • Strong working knowledge of BIRT.
  • Experience with Java or Python.
  • Experience with SQL or WQL query languages.
  • Knowledge of Kainos automated testing tools.
  • Occasional travel to Workday training and the annual Workday Rising Conference.
