Requirements
  • A four-year degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage, lead, and influence others on a team while prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Experience with multi-contractor management.
  • Excellent personal computer competency.
Responsibilities
  • Foster a reliability-centered maintenance culture within the team to ensure high equipment availability and supply chain facility performance.
  • Provide leadership to Maintenance Technicians, Utility Attendants, and Enterprise Asset Management Software Technicians.
  • Deliver solutions for challenging problems and work with building leaders to optimize the use of material handling equipment.
  • Manage external contractors, remain on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet challenging timelines.
  • Develop a continuous improvement ethic through a data-driven daily process focused on root cause elimination.
  • Improve system reliability through defect handling, breakdown elimination, planning, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to accomplish engineering and maintenance departmental goals.
  • Lead and develop the team through coaching, constructive feedback, guidance, and performance management and reviews.
  • Oversee onboarding and completion of required training for new hires and support continued enhancement of team capability.
  • Own the accuracy and timeliness of shift performance metrics and develop and communicate shift handoffs.
  • Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets and oversee escalation during downtime incidents.
  • Promote safety across the site by eliminating equipment safety hazards and ensuring adherence to safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Conduct safety investigations and after-action reviews to determine root causes.
  • Manage the health, reliability, and life-cycle management of site commodities, including material handling equipment, lighting, power distribution, backup generators, fire suppression and notification systems, balers, compactors, compressors, dock doors, HVAC, Over the Road trailer fleet, and Powered Industrial Truck fleet.
  • Approve financial expenditures for parts within corporate guidelines and validate the quality of external contractor work.
  • Ensure data integrity and adherence to Asset Management standards.
