Requirements
  • The candidate must demonstrate a track record of attracting, selecting, and developing financial advisors.
  • The candidate must have experience hiring financial advisors onto teams.
  • The candidate must be proficient in both English and Spanish for the Los Angeles market.
  • The position requires securities registrations, state insurance licenses, and appointments in all states where assigned financial advisors conduct business and receive commissions.
  • The candidate must have experience leading groups, particularly presenting and facilitating concepts and practices that support new financial advisor success.
  • The candidate must demonstrate solid sales results in life, health, annuity, and investment products and alignment with purpose-based advice.
  • The candidate must have experience using the Thrivent Financial Advice Process, Salesforce, and other Thrivent tools and systems, and be willing and able to model and promote their use.
  • The candidate must commit to joint field work expectations.
  • The candidate must hold FINRA Series 7 and Series 63/65 or Series 66 licenses, or obtain them within 90 days.
  • The candidate must be state-licensed and appointed in life, health, and variable lines of authority, or obtain those licenses within 90 days.
  • The candidate must be registered for securities and licensed and appointed for insurance in all states comprising the Advisor Group or aligned with assigned financial advisors.
  • The candidate must pass a satisfactory background check and maintain a clean compliance record.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel within the area, including possible overnight travel, up to 50%, and conduct business during evening hours.
  • The candidate must have a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a track record of satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities
  • Build and execute a recruiting plan by developing trusting relationships across broad networks and leveraging personal centers of influence for talent referrals.
  • Maintain a consistent recruiting pipeline to support market capacity growth and total sales objectives through advisor referrals and community relationships.
  • Collaborate with channel stakeholders to source candidates for open roles across virtual advice, team sales, and support channels.
  • Manage and engage candidates throughout selection, licensing, and launch in partnership with the matrix team.
  • Conduct selection interviews, assess candidates, and communicate Thrivent's value proposition.
  • Establish relationships with matrix partners to develop and grow talent for teams and future team leaders.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the Thrivent Financial Advice Process and model and coach all of its elements.
  • Provide launch support for new financial advisors during their first year alongside launch matrix partners.
  • Support financial advisors and teams in developing and executing business plans using natural-market relationships, referrals, and community partnerships.
  • Conduct joint field work with financial advisors to observe, provide feedback, and assist with case consultation and delivery.
  • Align with matrixed partners to grow future team leaders and team members.
  • Demonstrate, model, and coach the use of Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro, the Thrivent Planning Platform, and other Thrivent advice tools during the sales process.
  • Connect with local leadership and matrix partners regarding best practices and business changes.
  • Engage financial advisors through learning, development, and connection opportunities that build confidence, competence, and market culture.
  • Develop a healthy market culture, drive strong market results, and maintain a culture of excellence.
  • Facilitate connections between new and experienced financial advisors for joint field work and practice experiences.
  • Support and foster the culture established with the area vice president and channel stakeholders.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate annual budget parameters and collaborate with matrix and operational leadership on area investments.
  • Serve as the point of contact for dedicated matrix partners and establish an ongoing connection cadence.
  • Execute integration and leverage plans within the market.
  • Engage matrix partners to apply their expertise and skills to business processes and systems.
  • Work with the Community Engagement team and others to develop and implement advisor growth plans.
Desired Qualifications
  • A four-year college degree is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in the financial services industry attracting and hiring new talent is preferred.
