Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 9 years of experience; Master of Science degree in STEM related engineering field plus 7 years of professional experience; PhD in in STEM related engineering field plus 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Materials science; modeling, design, or test of superconducting electronics; quantum mechanics; low temperature physics; computer architectures; processing/memory subsystems; large-scale high performance computing systems; analog, RF, or digital design.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph per business requirements. U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 10-15 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
  • Execute in a direct contributor or technical leadership role supporting MDA programs in one of the following areas: Materials science; modeling, design or test of superconducting electronics; quantum mechanics; low temperature physics; computer architectures; processing/memory subsystems; large-scale high performance computing systems; analog, RF, or digital design.
  • Responsible and held accountable for labor and material execution through cost account management (CAM) assignments.
  • Accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.
  • Partnering with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost and schedule targets.
  • Providing technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
  • Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.
