Requirements
  • Knowledge and abilities acquired through any combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of college and at least one year of experience in a social service agency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and the Internet.
  • Ability to work in a highly interactive, emotionally and physically stimulating environment with diverse stakeholders, including youth and parents.
  • Reliable and accessible transportation to the BGCMC work site.
  • Strong organization, written and verbal communication, presentation, time management, prioritization, relationship-building, accountability, and independent and collaborative work abilities.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving history that would not disqualify the candidate from driving BGCMC vehicles.
  • Ability to remain sitting or standing for at least 50% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Eligibility for employment in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming environment for youth, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide professional customer service by maintaining knowledge of current programs and activities.
  • Follow Membership Services protocols and procedures and uphold Club rules and operational values through a youth development approach.
  • Enforce mandatory sign-in for members, volunteers, visitors, and vendors.
  • Provide weekly new-member and parent orientations and instruct new members on Club rules and membership-card use.
  • Protect confidential member, employee, and volunteer information.
  • Promote high expectations and recognize youth monthly for their efforts and achievements.
  • Address youth behavior using positive discipline incorporating responsibility, accountability, and appropriate consequences.
  • Maintain the KidTrax database and collect and report accurate membership data using electronic and paper-based tracking tools.
  • Comply with the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Expanded Learning Opportunity Program data-sharing agreement.
  • Manage the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Expanded Learning Opportunity Program membership database and 6Crickets for the Seaside Clubhouse.
  • Attend monthly Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Expanded Learning Opportunity Program meetings.
  • Stay current on KidTrax software updates and technical trends through communication with technical assistance.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure equipment and supplies are in good working order.
  • Communicate using the public address system, telephone, in person, email, and Blackboard.
  • Collect and record fees accurately and submit daily financial receipt summary reports according to membership standard operating procedures.
  • Provide families with information about community service agencies and refer them to appropriate agencies such as Harmony at Home counseling services.
  • Plan, organize, and implement parent education and support-group workshops.
  • Ensure parent participation in programs, volunteer activities, support groups, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to promote and stimulate Club membership.
  • Track and report the Catch the Bus Program daily in coordination with Operations.
  • Identify safety, transportation, maintenance, technology, and facility-rental issues for Operations.
  • Maintain accurate membership financial transaction records and submit them to Accounting on time.
  • Run data reports to identify eligible families and support shopping and auditing intake forms for Adopt-a-Family for the Seaside Clubhouse.
  • Oversee volunteer and Service Learner orientation, intake, and evaluation and serve as the volunteer-program liaison with the Clubhouse Director.
  • Represent the organization and interpret its objectives, standards, and programs.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with schools, businesses, youth service organizations, clergy, law enforcement, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and enlist on-site family-services opportunities with public, educational, and community organizations.
  • Stay current on social-service trends and emerging community health-care issues.
  • Oversee outreach at BGCMC’s information booth during community events and other assigned opportunities.
  • Participate in training related to membership services and local family resources.
  • Exercise authority when assigned as building closer or Manager on Duty.
  • Perform other duties assigned in alignment with the primary function.
Desired Qualifications
  • Oral and written fluency and proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse youth and people.
