Job Description
The Senior Account Executive assumes a broader responsibility for the account. They are responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day agency efforts on behalf of the client’s product and/or service on assigned accounts. They are primarily responsible for the execution of specific projects or lines of business for the brand.
The Sr. AE builds rapport and credibility with their client by demonstrating a basic understanding of client positioning and strategy. They develop strong and positive working relationships with creative, project management, developers, strategy and other agency departments.The Sr. AE synchronizes communications between account teams and clients and is responsible for accurate and thorough documentation: status reports, contact report, timelines and client creative revisions.
For Digital/CRM, the Senior Account Executive understands Digital Channels (Email, Web, Display and Social) and Print (Letters, OEs) and the different steps within the execution process.
Some of the responsibilities are as follows:
Project Management:
- Manages/responsible for project execution & ensures all timelines are met, including production processes such as Link Matrices, QA staging, and Studio for Print
- Processes day-to-day material thoroughly
- Diligence about details and follow-up
- Ensuring management of client expectations around timing, deliverables, and budget
- Recognizing any client requests that go against brand guidelines and/or items that create inconsistencies in design principles and knows when to escalate
Communication Skills:
- Communicating effectively (written & oral)
- Staying informed and keeps others informed
- Confidently leading project meetings with client as well as internally
- Developing and distributing contact reports as necessary
Understanding of Clients Business:
- Developing an understanding of the client’s business and their customers
- Beginning to understand the customer lifecycle and customer experience
- Beginning to develop points-of-view that will help build the client’s business and uncover areas of opportunity
- Staying on top of industry and competitive landscape of the client’s products / services
- Providing thought leadership on internal recommendations, briefs and creative reviews with insights around anticipated client feedback
- Assisting Account Supervisor and/or Account Director in writing communication plans
Creative and Strategy Preparation:
- Understanding client’s business objectives and communicates to the team
- Developping the ability to write a creative brief, with input along the way
- Beginning to understand testing and how tests can be implemented for better results
- Beginning to understand how/when to utilize different CRM solutions/capabilities to enhance response and/or customer experience
- Providing creative teams with all information/assets necessary to kick off projects, including past campaign learnings/results
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience within an agency environment
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a high standard of work within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong relationship building skills; good attention to detail and cross-team coordination
- Proven presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
