AFRY signs framework agreement with Ellevio for technical consulting services in electricity network operations. Mon, 29/06/2026 - 13:00 CEST AFRY has signed a framework agreement with Ellevio AB concerning technical consulting services in electricity network operations. It covers a broad range of technical competencies related to the development, operation and maintenance of Ellevio's electricity network. The framework agreement includes, among other things, consulting services in local and regional electricity networks, documentation services, inspections, forestry and land rights, as well as operation and maintenance. Assignments will be called off on an ongoing basis through renewed competition during the term of the agreement. The agreement entered into force on 1 April 2026 and runs for four years, with an option to extend for a further 2+2 years. Ellevio is undertaking significant investments to strengthen and modernize its electricity networks. AFRY's assignment contributes to enabling the energy transition by increasing capacity, improving security of supply, and supporting the sustainable development of critical infrastructure. AFRY to support the development of resilient food system in Sweden. Fri, 26/06/2026 - 09:00 CEST AFRY has been commissioned by the Swedish Food Agency to develop technical requirement specifications for mobile and modular grain mills and associated packaging solutions. The assignment is part of the effort to strengthen the preparedness and resilience of Sweden's food system to ensure food production for over one million people during crises and periods of heightened need for readiness. The project focuses on enabling local production of flour and other grain-based foods and maintain food supply if regular supply chains are disrupted. The requirement specifications will form the basis for future procurements and will cover areas such as food safety, process design, automation, energy supply, mobility, operational reliability, and work environment. The key requirement is that the solutions are designed to function under demanding conditions, with particular focus given to the circumstances prevailing in Sweden's northernmost regions. The assignment will bring together AFRY's expertise in food production, process design, automation, mechanical engineering, and safety. The work builds on the experience from projects in grain handling and food production for clients across the food industry. AFRY awarded engineering assignment for UK's first full-scale carbon capture facility. Thu, 25/06/2026 - 09:00 CEST AFRY has been awarded an engineering assignment by Kanadevia Inova in connection with the development of the UK's first full-scale carbon capture facility, in waste-to-energy. The project is being developed by Encyclis, a leading owner and operator of energy-from-waste facilities in the UK, together with the greentech company Kanadevia Inova acting as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the carbon capture plant. As part of the project, AFRY will deliver detailed engineering services for steel structures and piping systems related to the integration of the carbon capture plant with an existing energy recovery facility. The scope includes mechanical and piping detail engineering, structural calculations, support systems, and associated technical documentation. The carbon capture facility represents a major step forward in decarbonizing energy-from-waste operations and forms part of the wider HyNet North West decarbonization cluster, a regional collaboration for carbon capture, hydrogen and reduced industrial emissions in north-west England. Once in operation, the facility is expected to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by capturing both fossil and biogenic CO[2] from the waste-to-energy process.
