Responsibilities
  • Ensure equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers and cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis systems, water filtration equipment, and general plant equipment.
  • Work directly with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues during the shift.
  • Propose solutions to complex and recurring production-equipment problems to senior mechanics and management.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Complete repairs independently and with other team members in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fill in for a production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout the shift, complete work-order paperwork, and document parts and material usage.
  • Follow plant safety rules, safe lifting practices, and safe machine-operation procedures, using personal protective equipment where required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance to support equipment and facility uptime.

Since moving into supply chain leadership, Jha has held roles from plant director to his current position overseeing logistics strategy across a multi-state region, and is now deeply involved in Niagara Bottling's AI strategy for manufacturing and supply chain operations. He holds several patents in manufacturing and supply chain technology, including three granted US patents around direct to store shipments, and has deployed AI-driven systems for automated palletizing, dynamic shipping, and operational incident handling. Published May 18, 2026 Niagara Bottling LLC, a family-owned water and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Diamond Bar, California, says it has acquired the shuttered rPlanet Earth brand and its 305,000-square-foot polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling and packaging facility in Vernon, California, with the intention to vertically integrate its bottling business. The rPlanet Earth facility, which closed in September 2025, was purchased from rPlanet Earth Los Angeles Holdings and rPlanet Earth Los Angeles. Through the acquisition, Niagara says it plans to enhance its recycling capabilities by sorting, cleaning and reprocessing PET materials into recycled PET (rPET) flake and pellets, which then will be used to make packaging for Niagara products. "We're proud to bring this facility back to life and become one of the few companies in the country with a true bottle-to-bottle process," says Niagara President Rali Sanderson. "As part of this work, we're investing in new equipment so we can turn recyclable plastic materials into new bottles, right here in California. This restores a vital recycling operation for the community, making sure even more plastic containers are recycled and get a second life." According to Niagara, the rPlanet Earth facility processes B bales, which come from curbside mixed recycling bins. It describes B bales as a mix of materials that are more difficult to process, and the facility is critical at a time when PET surpassed aluminum as the most recycled material in California in 2025. Niagara also notes the purchase will provide domestic circularity in the state for the company and its customers. The addition allows Niagara to expand its beverage manufacturing operations and pursue vertical integration for its business. Throughout its history, the company points to sustainability strides such as a 70 percent reduction in the amount of plastic in its cap, bottle and label over the last 30 years through lightweighting and introducing label-free bottles in the United States. "Niagara's commitment to producer responsibility will help ensure that literally billions of PET containers returned for recycling by California consumers will make their way back into new containers, reducing pollution and reliance on fossil fuels, while creating jobs and economic growth," says Mark Murray, executive director of the environmental group Californians Against Waste. "More than a feel-good slogan or green label, Niagara is making a tangible investment in California's closed-loop recycling economy." Niagara says the facility will go through a phased restoration and become fully operational and integrated into its network, which includes bottling facilities located throughout the U.S., Mexico, Australia and the United Kingdom. The company claims it already has filled several positions and plans to hire 60 team members in total, including many from the former rPlanet Earth operation. The company says the facility is expected to initially process 45 million tons of rPET annually, which will be used in Niagara products. The acquisition could be viewed as a measure of relief to a PET recycling industry that has endured a series of losses over the last 18 months. Including rPlanet Earth, seven PET reclaimers had closed since 2025, resulting in the loss of more than 25 percent of the U.S.' reclamation capacity and one-third of curbside-collected PET, according to figures gathered from organizations like The Recycling Partnership and the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR). At the time of rPlanet Earth's closing last September, the Washington-based APR claimed the company accounted for approximately 4 percent of rPET capacity in the U.S., and the closure was caused by low demand for its products and increasing competition from a surge of low-cost imported material and oversupplied virgin plastic.
