Requirements
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required for low-bed and lowboy operations.
  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License is required for tilt-bed and flat-bed operations.
  • Compliance with all Department of Transportation physical requirements is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The driver must pass Department of Transportation physical examinations.
  • The driver must be able to give and receive written or oral instructions.
  • The driver must be able to work independently.
  • The driver must be skilled in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
  • The driver must be able to read maps and follow directions to job-site locations.
  • The driver must be physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.
  • The driver must interact professionally with the public and company personnel while making deliveries.
  • The driver must be able to drive safely and maintain composure while driving.
  • The driver must be able to perform prolonged sitting, hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment, including extensive heavy physical activity and dexterity.
  • The driver must be able to drive for long periods and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The driver must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Transport construction materials and equipment to customer or job-site locations as dispatched.
  • Move construction materials at different job sites as assigned.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle, report problems to the shop immediately, and check for damaged or nonworking parts and signs of tampering.
  • Drive to destinations while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
  • Maintain a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Promptly report traffic or site-condition problems and obtain job-site and route information, including locations of low bridges and roads.
  • Comply with truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repair guidelines in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience is preferred.
