Requirements
  • A bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or backend application development with increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate backend services, APIs, and application components that power AI Accelerator products.
  • Develop Python/FastAPI, TypeScript/Node, or similar services that integrate large language model APIs, retrieval systems, workflow engines, and internal enterprise systems.
  • Execute six two-week sprints over a 12-week AI Accelerator cycle by developing, testing, and validating cloud and agentic artificial-intelligence product increments.
  • Develop Model Context Protocol-accessible services that allow approved agents to read, write, search, and maintain structured knowledge assets such as Markdown and YAML.
  • Build Model Context Protocol/FastMCP read-write-search APIs, permissioned knowledge stores, version control, audit trails, access controls, and integrations with AWS-native storage and identity patterns.
  • Implement secure application patterns for authentication and authorization, BMS single sign-on, BMS Cloud Credentials, secrets management, auditability, input validation, and safe service boundaries.
  • Partner with frontend engineers to define API contracts, streaming response patterns, error handling, and service-level behaviors for AI-powered user experiences.
  • Build and host agentic workflows using LangGraph, including workflow state, multi-agent orchestration, tool execution, fan-out/fan-in patterns, and durable checkpoints.
  • Develop Model Context Protocol tool integrations and FastMCP servers that allow agents to use governed enterprise capabilities safely and consistently.
  • Implement retrieval, memory, and context services using AWS-aligned data stores such as S3, Athena, PostgreSQL/RDS, ElastiCache/Redis, OpenSearch, Amazon S3 Vectors, and Amazon Neptune.
  • Build and evolve the semantic layer for SQL and natural-language-to-code-generating agents, grounding analytical questions in query history, column values, warehouse context, instructions, memory, and governed data tools.
  • Package reusable deployment patterns, starter kits, and golden paths for AWS Fargate, serverless services, containers, and production-adjacent AI applications.
  • Create and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, environment configuration, automated tests, infrastructure as code, and release processes for cloud AI applications.
  • Instrument application reliability, latency, cost, usage, tracing, and model or agent behavior using enterprise observability and AI evaluation tools such as LangSmith.
  • Embed automated quality gates, security scans, regression tests, structured-output validation gates, and responsible-AI guardrail checks into delivery pipelines.
  • Build sandboxed agent execution environments where code and data can branch together, transformations are recoverable, provenance is preserved, and merge and audit workflows protect shared data assets.
  • Demonstrate minimum viable product progress through bi-weekly demos and technical updates, tracking platform performance, reliability, cost, security, and business-value signals to assess readiness for scaling.
  • Continuously improve shared platform patterns based on lessons learned across pods, changing enterprise standards, and advances in AI engineering practices.
  • Partner with AI engineers, data engineers, data scientists, frontend engineers, pod leads, architects, and product teams to solve complex delivery challenges.
  • Refine delivery priorities and technical backlog items based on stakeholder feedback, performance results, sprint reviews, and lessons learned throughout minimum viable product development.
  • Complete minimum viable product transition activities by maturing AI capabilities, adding key features, validating reliability in practice, confirming business value, and assessing production readiness.
  • Provide technical coaching through design reviews, code reviews, architecture reviews, incident learning, documentation, and reusable examples.
  • Communicate cloud trade-offs, including when to optimize for speed, cost, reliability, compliance, scalability, or long-term maintainability.

Bristol Myers Squibb to build $2.3B Houston drug manufacturing campus

Bristol Myers Squibb will build a $2.3 billion drug manufacturing campus in Houston, Texas, as part of its $40 billion US investment commitment over five years. BMS claims pharma's most powerful supercomputer with Nvidia, beating Lilly and Roche

Bristol Myers Squibb announced an expanded partnership with Nvidia to build what it claims will be "the most powerful and energy-efficient single-owned Nvidia infrastructure in life sciences". BMS joins Eli Lilly and Roche in staking supercomputer superlative claims, though companies use different metrics to measure power. According to Nvidia, BMS' planned system will be the most advanced by operations per second, whilst others measure by GPU count or single system capacity. By Reuters Reuters Updated August 2, 2026 4:05 PM Gift Article Aug 2 (Reuters) - UK drugmaker AstraZeneca has been exploring a deal to combine with U.S. rival Bristol Myers Squibb, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter. The deal could create one of the world's biggest pharmaceutical companies with a combined value of nearly $400 billion. The companies have held talks on a potential tie-up in recent months, the report said, adding that a deal could materialize soon, but could also be delayed or fall apart. Reuters could not immediately verify the report. AstraZeneca declined to comment, while Bristol Myers did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Last year, AstraZeneca unveiled plans for a direct U.S. listing, aiming to capitalize on stronger valuations in the U.S. market while remaining listed in London. STRONG GROWTH IN CANCER DRUGS AstraZeneca's share price has more than quadrupled during Pascal Soriot's 14-year tenure as CEO, soaring above the wider FTSE 100 index and main British rival GSK. Second-quarter results last week showed strong demand for cancer and rare disease drugs continues to drive growth. Cancer treatments accounted for about $25 billion in 2025 sales, nearly half of the total, followed by cardiovascular, renal and metabolism treatments worth about $12 billion. Combining with Bristol Myers, whose shares are up around 44% over the last year, could draw attention from antitrust regulators. Oncology drugs accounted for over 40% of its overall sales in the first six months of 2026, and the two companies' cancer immunotherapies directly compete. "I would expect a Trump FTC to scrutinize the merger and if there are significant overlaps in certain drugs and late stage pipeline overlaps it would require meaningful divestitures," said antitrust lawyer Andre Barlow with DBM Law Group, referring to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Bristol Myers has been doing smaller deals to gain new drugs as it faces declining sales of older medicines, some of which will soon face generic competition. In 2019, Bristol Myers bought Celgene for about $80 billion, acquiring its flagship blood cancer drug Revlimid, which became Bristol's top-selling product. Revlimid has already lost patent protection and its current top sellers - cancer immunotherapy Opdivo and blood thinner Eliquis - could lose patent protection by 2028. Barlow noted that in the deal for Celgene, the Trump FTC required Celgene to sell psoriasis treatment Otezla, a major divestiture at $13.4 billion. "There is bipartisan support to scrutinize pharma deals so I would imagine that even the Trump FTC would ask the broader questions relating to bundling of products and a lack of future innovation, in addition to scrutinizing all direct overlaps," he said. Bristol raised its full-year revenue and profit forecast last week as strong sales of Eliquis and newer medicines pushed second-quarter results well past analysts' estimates. Its promising newer drugs and pipeline assets include an experimental blood thinner milvexian, anemia treatment Reblozyl and heart drug Camzyos. The report of the potential deal comes about a dozen years after AstraZeneca fended off a takeover attempt by larger U.S. rival Pfizer. Large pharma deals have been rare in recent years, in part due to concerns about antitrust and U.S. pressure to keep drug prices low. Besides Bristol and Celgene, AbbVie bought Allergan in 2020 and Takeda and Shire combined in 2019.
