- Maintain a current Certified Nursing Assistant license in good standing.
- Hold a Maryland Home Health Aide license.
- Hold a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Deliver quality home health care services to agency clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist, in accordance with physician orders, agency and industry standards, and federal and state regulations.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility.
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance.
- Respond promptly to resident needs and requests for care, and provide or obtain assistance as necessary.
- Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and report them promptly to a licensed nurse.
- Complete forms and documentation, including incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and serve meals and assist with eating, excluding tube feeding.
- Make beds, empty garbage, and tidy rooms daily and as needed.
- Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting is preferred.
