Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities
  • Counsel and advise education abroad students on academic issues, prerequisites, transfer credits, medical insurance, and cultural adjustment.
  • Track students' education abroad requirements and maintain the VIA TRM Study Abroad database to ensure accurate student enrollments and monetary deposits.
  • Track outcomes assessment measures, including student evaluations of education abroad experiences.
  • Communicate education abroad policies and procedures, including emergency preparedness and crisis management, to faculty, students, staff, and parents.
  • Monitor and enforce education abroad policies and procedures with faculty, students, staff, parents, and alumni.
  • Monitor international travel advisories, alerts, and public announcements.
  • Develop and revise newsletters, promotional materials, the VIA TRM Study Abroad database, Canvas sites, and information sessions concerning education abroad policies and procedures.
  • Organize education abroad displays and information and promotional materials in print and electronic forms.
  • Plan and further develop fall and spring semester education abroad fairs, information sessions, pre-departure sessions, and re-entry activities.
  • Co-advise student organizations involving education abroad alumni.
  • Assist with the development and enhanced coordination of education abroad programming.
  • Attend and assist with presentations on education abroad programs at recruiting events, open houses, orientations, information sessions, and pre-departure sessions.
  • Perform basic office functions and other assigned duties, including answering phones, preparing wire transfers, preparing check requisitions, ordering office supplies, and calendaring items.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience using VIA TRM's Study Abroad database system is preferred.
  • Counseling or advising experience in an International Programs Office in a university setting is preferred.
  • Participation in an education abroad experience or relevant work experience abroad is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is preferred.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.
