  • Minimum of Ph.D degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Industrial experience is desired but not required.
  • The candidate should have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: modeling of planar lightwave circuits, which includes waveguide, mode converter, and/or grating couplers; modeling of plasmonic devices; and design of optical characterization tools for optical devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project in research and/or advanced development is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment are essential.
Responsibilities
  • design of the optical system, including a planar waveguide, a mode converter, a laser diode, and a near-field transducer;
  • characterization of the optical system;
  • initiating and developing intellectual property;
  • publishing and presenting scientific results at conferences.
