Summary: We’re seeking an Accountant to join our Financial Operations team and play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role will handle monthly client revenue share reporting, calculate revenue share accruals for month-end processes, assist with client account reconciliations, and support various time-sensitive FinOps tasks and procedures. It will collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the audit and setup of the new Fin Ops Invoicing system. This will include setting up new customer cards, completing parallel testing between current invoicing processes against new automated processes, and working closely with the Client Support team to help as changes are implemented.
2. Prepares monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation (following GAAP)
3. Prepare accurate and timely client revenue share reports.
4. Communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators to address month-end questions/queries.
5. Conduct regular reconciliations of financial transactions, including bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
6. Identify and investigate discrepancies, variances, or irregularities in financial data, and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.
7. Maintain accurate and organized reconciliation documentation, including supporting records and audit trails, ensuring compliance.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, streamline workflows, and implement standard methodologies.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies, assisting in audits when vital.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is a plus).
· Experience in financial reconciliation and accounting roles.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
· Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the finance and accounting field.
The base salary range for this position is between $65,250 to $81,506 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
