Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise utility workers, facility operators, and contractors; interview and hire employees, set performance standards, manage performance, develop and coach staff, and address performance issues.
  • Manage operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the Central Western Division's remote well sites and wastewater systems, with a focus on safety, environmental leadership, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling and tracking work activities, and coordinate resource sharing with other operational groups.
  • Manage the Central West Division distribution system and service departments for in-house and contracted work, including replacement, relocations, and repairs of distribution and collection system appurtenances.
  • Manage the operations budget and assist the engineering department with the capital budget; prepare and monitor expense budgets, ensure adherence to expense limits, and explain variances.
  • Maintain databases supporting operations and report on compliance activities, including compliance sampling, compliance data submission, hydrant flushing, valve exercising, water loss, and production.
  • Partner with the area engineering department to ensure construction projects meet company specifications, are properly documented, and are completed on schedule.
  • Build and maintain working partnerships with public utilities, municipalities, and local fire departments; represent the company in meetings with townships, counties, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor regulations affecting utility operations, identify regulatory changes and their operational impact, and make recommendations.
  • Perform related activities as assigned, including overseeing office-facility cleaning and maintenance and administering department inventory.

  • A bachelor's degree in Project Management, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in a water or wastewater utility system is preferred.
