- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or have an education equivalency for licensing.

- Have one year of experience or less working as a registered nurse; no experience is required.
- For Illinois, have an official passing score on NCLEX results.
- Hold Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- For Illinois, obtain Registered Professional Nurse status within three months of the official NCLEX pass date and provide the official NCLEX pass letter.
- For Missouri and Oklahoma, obtain the required NCLEX status within three months of the graduation date.
- For Wisconsin, obtain the required NCLEX status within three months of the graduation date and hold a Wisconsin nursing temporary permit.
- Under the direction of an RN preceptor, perform delegated nursing-care tasks based on demonstrated competence and training received in the approved nursing program.
- Perform patient assessments covering biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, nutritional, pain-management, abuse-or-neglect, and age-appropriate needs to develop, evaluate, and modify patient care plans.
- Develop comprehensive patient and family education plans using appropriate resources and instructional methods, and provide health education and coaching.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders where applicable, in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivered by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in required patient-care training and complete competency requirements where applicable.
- Complete required training, seek assistance, and ask questions as needed to learn and understand the role.
- Follow professional nursing standards and use the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to patient and population health needs.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
