Requirements
  • Experience operating and performing routine maintenance for PET and PET/CT scanners
  • Must be able to place and maintain IV access
  • Ability to interact with patients and staff/team members in a responsible, professional and ethical manner
  • Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
  • Performs PET and PET/CT scanner operation for data acquisition and reconstruction
  • Reviews and acquires patients medical history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns
  • Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and radiation safety/regulations
  • Evaluates and prepares the patient before beginning a procedure; and is able to effectively monitor patient during procedure
  • Recognizes emergency patient conditions and initiates lifesaving first aid when appropriate
  • Assists with quality control and service management to ensure continuous improvements in quality Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services
  • Coordinates effective scheduling of procedures by organizing Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT resources and coordinating with key stakeholders
  • May assist with supervising other technologists, students, and other personnel as required
