Requirements
  • Minimum: Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacy.
  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.

Responsibilities
  • Follows the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
  • Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversees the initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third party claims.
  • Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to provide for maximum turns while still remaining in-stock for customer needs. Oversees the transmitting, processing and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
  • Oversees the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns.
  • Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures in-store pharmacy technology is being used to its fullest potential to allow for a maximum return on investment of the technology and life span.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
  • Ensure all loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention.
  • Assist in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising and promotional programs are fully executed and implemented.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
  • Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
  • Assist in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
  • Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
