Construction Estimator – Ada, Michigan
DISHER is currently partnering with a local leader in commercial construction to fill the role of Construction Estimator. This position is responsible for working on estimating teams or working independently on design-bidbuild, negotiated, design assist, and design-build projects. A candidate should have experience both working with estimating teams and working independently on commercial, industrial, institutional, and public works projects.

What you will get to do:
- Acquisition of new work through competitive bidding and support of negotiations
- Conduct necessary research to prepare conceptual estimates based on limited information and general layouts
- Prepare and/or work within an estimating team to complete preliminary and final estimates on complex projects
- Review project bid documents and coordinate with estimate/bid/proposal team to ensure work plan and scope are thorough and efficient;
- Identify and communicate risk issues, their order of magnitude, and proposed solutions to minimize
- Prepare bid solicitations
- Prepare work scopes, instructions to bidders, and bid forms;
- Prepare and/or manage the quantity survey for self-performed or sub/vendor budgeting efforts for internal bids;
- Prepare general and special conditions cost estimates;
- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of schedule, means and methods, constructability, and other information to ensure competitiveness and limit risk;
- Prepare for and participate in bid day and final assembly of estimates
- Perform value engineering at all phases of projects
- Complete project buyout and effectively hand estimate information to operations;
- Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends;
- Assist in the maintenance of the sub/vendor database
- Compile labor productivity and cost history records
- Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and computer skills and or understanding are essential to be successful.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in the treatment of client and subcontractor relationships

- A Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or similar field is preferred, or the candidate must possess equivalent combinations of technical training or experience
