Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Drive successful operational execution of early development programs as project manager and single point of accountability for operational support to asset teams.
  • Lead and support a team of project managers responsible for operational delivery of the early development portfolio.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration in advancing therapies through preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones.
  • Ensure activities and processes remain aligned with business needs and the Asset Centric Model requirements.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for operational project management.
  • Apply the Asset Centric Model framework to ensure accurate and timely delivery of project objectives and steady program progress across development and commercialization stages.
  • Enforce a productive project environment by using standard project methodology and leading monthly operational meetings.
  • Develop and maintain integrated cross-functional project plans, track progress against objectives and timelines, and raise risks and mitigation options to the project leader.
  • Advise on governance expectations and prepare key decision-point discussions with cross-functional input and rigorous debate.
  • Facilitate science-based business decisions by generating development scenarios and options and highlighting interdependencies and downstream impacts, including timelines and budget.
  • Contribute with asset team leaders to prepare and present progress reports and decision-making materials to governance bodies, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Manage project budgets and resource plans in partnership with team leaders, Finance, resource forecasting managers, function heads, and function representatives.
  • Track project budgets, expenses, and resources against estimates and commitments with Finance and raise risks to the project leader.
  • Ensure supportive materials and data are provided on time for tax-credit requests.
  • Set up and maintain a project document repository accessible to team members and supporting collaborative ways of working.
  • Ensure relevant project documents are well organized and accessible.
  • Foster high-performing teams and monitor team health and operating efficiency.
  • Work closely with the strategic alliance management partner on jointly developed projects.
  • Set measurable objectives and key performance indicators for each team member, conduct regular one-on-one meetings and feedback sessions, and address progress and challenges.
  • Provide day-to-day strategic guidance and resources to team members so they can deliver individual and collective project goals.
  • Support tailored development plans for team members and prepare them for increased responsibilities.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with therapeutic-area heads, commercial leads, franchise leads, and governance operations to develop and maintain a roadmap for the early development portfolio.
  • Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, chemistry, manufacturing and controls, commercial, and Finance leaders to align portfolio decisions, priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the early development portfolio with Governance Operations and track progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Assess portfolio health and performance and adjust the portfolio based on data, stakeholder feedback, and strategic reviews.
  • Delegate responsibilities and empower team members to make informed decisions, manage project challenges, and own assigned programs.
  • Drive adoption and continuous improvement of project-management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and optimize resource utilization across the portfolio.
  • Ensure project documentation, reporting, and regulatory-compliance requirements are met.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across programs and promote continuous learning to improve portfolio performance.
  • Develop efficient interfaces with internal stakeholders and functions, including Research and Development, Business Units, Value and Access, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, Business Operations, and Legal, as well as external parties.

Dysport sales forecast through 2034 as neuromodulator market set to reach $11.3B by 2028

Ipsen and Galderma's Dysport faces increasing competition in the global neurotoxin market from established products like Botox and newer entrants such as long-acting Daxxify from Revance Therapeutics. A new ResearchAndMarkets.com report analyses Dysport's sales trajectory through 2034 across seven major markets, including the US, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, and Japan. The botulinum toxin procedures market is projected to reach approximately $11.3 billion by 2028, with an estimated 8% compound annual growth rate. Galderma's neuromodulator sales reached $1.47 billion in 2025, up 14.3% year-over-year from $1.29 billion in 2024. Dysport maintains its market position through competitive pricing, clinical efficacy, and applications across both aesthetic and therapeutic indications, though Botox remains the global market leader.

Marengo nominates first drug candidate under Ipsen collaboration, appoints T-cell engager expert

Marengo Therapeutics has nominated its first drug candidate under its strategic collaboration with Ipsen, advancing the programme into IND-enabling development. The candidate is the second from Marengo's TriSTAR platform to reach this stage. The company also appointed Saso Cemerski as senior vice president, head of immunology, to expand its T-cell engager pipeline. TriSTAR is a precision T-cell engager platform combining selective T-cell activation with tumour-directed engagement in a single molecule. The milestone demonstrates progress across multiple programmes under the collaboration, which was established in June 2024. Marengo led research and preclinical development for this programme and is eligible for milestone payments. Ipsen will assume responsibility for all subsequent development activities.

Ipsen upgrades 2026 guidance after H1 sales surge 23.5% to $2.5B

Ipsen reported strong first-half 2026 results, with sales growing 23.5% at constant exchange rates to €2.19bn and core operating income rising 28.8% to €845m. The French biopharmaceutical company upgraded its full-year guidance, now expecting sales growth above 20% at constant rates, up from previous guidance of 13%. The company strengthened its pipeline with positive Phase III results for Dysport in migraine prevention and Iqirvo in primary biliary cholangitis. Ipsen completed the acquisition of Memo Therapeutics for €200m upfront, with potential milestone payments exceeding €700m. It also agreed to acquire Kartos Therapeutics for $450m upfront and up to $1.3bn in milestones, with topline data from Kartos's lead asset expected in 2027. Core operating margin reached 38.6%, with full-year expectations raised to above 37%.

Ipsen's Bylvay fails Phase III trial for rare liver disease in babies

Ipsen's rare disease drug Bylvay (odevixibat) failed to meet its primary endpoint in a Phase III trial for biliary atresia, causing the company's stock to fall. The BOLD trial enrolled 254 patients across 19 countries who had undergone Kasai hepatoportoenterostomy surgery within their first 90 days of life. The study did not demonstrate improvement in native liver survival versus placebo. Biliary atresia, affecting one in 5,000-20,000 newborns, is the leading cause of paediatric liver transplant, with no approved medical treatments beyond surgery. Bylvay is approved in the US and EU for treating cholestatic pruritus in Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis and Alagille Syndrome. The drug generated €180 million for Ipsen in 2025, up 32.5% from the previous year.
