Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of five years of relevant healthcare or similar facility security experience is required.
- A minimum of three years of leadership experience is required.
- Experience with Title 22 and other regulatory agency requirements is required.
- A current California driver's license is required, and the candidate must be insurable under Huntington's liability insurance.
- A current California Guard Card issued by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services is required.
- Knowledge of healthcare security and safety operations is required.
- Knowledge of emergency management, crisis response, verbal de-escalation, and use-of-force response is required.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and workplace violence prevention is required.
- Leadership, professional communication, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
- Knowledge of physical security systems, investigations, and critical incident management is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to management and line staff within identified departments.
- Ensure the achievement of performance targets and strategic initiatives by meeting operational goals consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Oversee security operations for the main campus, immediate surrounding properties, and off-site facilities.
- Establish departmental vision, philosophy, objectives, and functions.
- Study program requirements, develop work standards, and evaluate results.
- Ensure that security meets all requirements set forth by The Joint Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, California Assembly Bill 508, Title 22, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of seven years of healthcare or similar facility experience is preferred.
- Law enforcement or military experience is preferred.
- A current Basic Life Support Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association is preferred.
- Current Basic, Advanced, Supervisor, and Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator certifications issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety are preferred.
