Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a business discipline, preferably Supply Chain, Logistics, or Retail Buying.
  • At least 10 years of management experience in domestic and international vendor management.
  • A progressive track record of increasing responsibility in supply chain, retail, or international logistics.
  • Expert knowledge of vendor relations, finance, and supply chain procedures.
  • Extensive experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing high-service support teams.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and vendor support platforms.
  • The ability to communicate and operate effectively with vendors, buyers, and cross-functional partners.
  • People leadership experience, including attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining talent.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with Burlington's merchandise vendors and merchant teams.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for operational assistance, including vendor onboarding, performance troubleshooting, and conveying best practices to suppliers.
  • Lead a team of managers, supervisors, and frontline contributors.
  • Ensure departmental procedures and service-level agreements are documented, maintained, and followed.
  • Lead vendor meetings and support buyers' vendor meetings to address and resolve issues.
  • Attend trade shows, visit vendors, and represent Burlington at industry events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on vendor compliance and communication initiatives.
  • Partner with legal, supply chain, buying, and finance teams to resolve disputes related to vendor agreements.
  • Maintain internal and external contacts to foster partnerships and drive results.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in departmental processes, tools, and integration points.
  • Quantify benefits, prioritize team projects, and align with leadership on company goals and priorities.
  • Generate ideas, insights, and solutions using analytical reasoning; anticipate issues and develop solutions.
  • Engage team leaders regarding project status, deadline readiness, and risks; address roadblocks and prevent missed targets.
  • Lead change-management initiatives for team members and business stakeholders.
  • Report team results to senior leadership and track project status.
  • Analyze vendor-performance data, develop recommendations, and present findings to vendors and merchants.
  • Identify process-improvement opportunities and guide implementation.
  • Advise managers on team roles and workflow-related changes.
  • Oversee publication of reports on daily work and special projects.
  • Review policies, standards, and procedures related to Vendor Management before publication.
  • Research, analyze, develop, and manage special projects; report status and recommend changes to standard operating procedures and service-level agreements.
  • Manage strategic programs supporting Burlington 2.5 initiatives and work with third-party partners to develop and enhance the vendor portal.
  • Establish sustainable standards of practice with merchandising senior leadership and maintain vendor-facing documents and manuals.
  • Drive efficiency and simplify processes through internal and external business partnerships.
  • Develop and implement standardized best practices for vendor onboarding, vendor performance, and vendor relations.
  • Develop and drive the Vendor Management team's strategy in support of enterprise goals.
  • Identify, develop, and monitor standardized communication processes.
  • Identify and lead cross-functional special projects.

Burlington opens in Keizer Station. A new discount retailer has moved into the former Bed, Bath and Beyond location in Keizer. Burlington held a grand opening on Friday, July 17 at 6180 Ulali Drive in Keizer Station. The national chain sells clothes, shoes, home goods and accessories. Max Ekren, assistant manager of the Keizer store, said the company is "excited" to open the Keizer location. He said the process of opening the store has lasted months, and employees began preparing the building just under two weeks before the grand opening. COURTESY PHOTO, Burlington Stores The grand opening of Burlington Stores Inc. in Kent is set for 8:45 a.m. Friday, May 8, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and presentation of a $5,000 donation to teachers at nearby Scenic Hill Elementary School. Burlington has moved into the former TOP Food and Drug store on the East Hill at the Canyon Ridge Plaza, 26015 104th Ave. SE, Suite 101. Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The plaza also includes Target at the south end of the property. "Delivering incredible value on brand-name and on-trend merchandise is at the heart of what we do," said Michael O'Sullivan, CEO, Burlington Stores, in a company press release. "Opening a new, modernized store in Kent is an exciting step for us as we continue expanding Burlington locations nationwide. We look forward to giving local Kent customers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design." The new location features a reimagined store design, which reflects Burlington's broader strategy to modernize stores, making it easier for shoppers to find the brands they know and love, according to the press release. All new stores feature a refreshed format including wider, more organized aisles and bold signage for easier navigation to the latest must-have trends. While over half of the brand's existing locations have already been converted, the remaining stores are expected to transition by the end of 2026. With fresh merchandise arriving each week, at up to 60% off other retailers' prices, customers will discover something new every time they shop, according to the company. This will be the 20th store to open in Washington state. Originally known as a coat retailer, Burlington now offers deals on top-quality branded merchandise for the entire family and home. On Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 100 customers, ages 18 and up, will enjoy a $10 bonus card to be used toward their purchase.
