Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field is required; a master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Seven to ten years of quality and environmental experience in industry is required.
- Experience implementing ISO management systems successfully is required.
- Management experience is required.
- Experience developing and implementing QA strategies and managing quality systems is required.
- Strong understanding of quality methodologies, tools, and processes, including Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and SPC, is required.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and other industry-specific regulations is required.
- Knowledge of Product Quality Assurance analyses and methodology is required.
- Strong understanding of food-item processing, including applying dry-goods materials to containers, is required.
- Ability to work safely, including proper use of protective equipment and handling hazardous substances under the Domaine Chandon Chemical Hygiene Plan, is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
- English proficiency is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and execute all aspects of Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment across the organization.
- Lead safety committees, safety initiatives, and the company health and safety program.
- Develop and maintain health and safety training, including new-hire orientation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal OSHA, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Lead ISO 45001 certification and manage the Integrated Management System for safety.
- Conduct safety inspections, incident reporting, and contractor safety management.
- Develop the contractor safety management program and ensure contractor adherence.
- Manage site risks and maintain safety-goal performance.
- Maintain safety-training records and respond to critical incidents and other events.
- Coordinate CAPEX submissions and progress for health and safety projects.
- Maintain vendor relationships and safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and manage the Integrated Management System or Quality Management System and ISO certifications.
- Improve, maintain, and communicate quality KPIs, monthly dashboards, and reports to leadership.
- Conduct quality-system audits, manage CAPA programs, maintain documentation, and update the compliance database.
- Ensure quality and regulatory controls in supplier selection, monitoring, and improvement plans.
- Act as the DCC point of contact for quality coordination teams.
- Manage, mentor, and support the Quality Supervisor and Technician.
- Lead root-cause and corrective-action investigations for quality complaints.
- Lead audits of production processes, suppliers, and third-party logistics suppliers.
- Ensure dangerous-goods incoming inspections and finished-product inspections are completed on time.
- Process wine returns and inspect in-process and post-process packaged wines, providing feedback to line operations.
- Assist with new-packaging design and trials, determine inspection specifications, and establish finished-product quality standards.
- Maintain current finished-product specifications and communicate them to relevant personnel.
- Drive continuous-improvement and productivity initiatives.
- Lead the development and application of lean manufacturing practices.
- Develop process-oriented analysis and continuous-improvement methodologies, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Management.
- Lead environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and Napa Green Winery Certification.
- Lead the sustainability committee across soils, water, packaging and waste, health and safety, energy, carbon footprint, corporate social responsibility, and workplace wellness.
- Develop and execute environmental projects to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and support company growth.
- Oversee ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification processes and environmental-regulatory compliance.
- Collect, evaluate, and report environmental-performance data through required company reports.
- Identify investments that reduce environmental impact and establish annual environment and energy objectives.
- Develop technical skills, training plans, and development opportunities for the team.
- Prepare annual QHSE operating and capital-expenditure budgets and strategic investment summaries.
- Develop and revise the five-year quality-management plan with the Winemaking and Operations Directors.
- Identify cost efficiencies and waste-reduction opportunities.
- Benchmark quality, health, safety, and environmental practices and implement best-in-class procedures.
- Contribute to management-team projects and Moet Hennessy-wide initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
- Winery experience is preferred.
- A master's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
- French proficiency is preferred but not required.
- Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
