Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Registered Nurse).
  • Current Registered Nurse state licensure.
  • Experience in clinical nursing.
  • At least 6 months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrated management skills necessary to lead the supervision of facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for all patients.
  • Successfully passed the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program in collaboration with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Execute short- and long-term objectives with responsibility for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily dialysis clinic business operations, including center staff, patient care quality, physical plant and equipment, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Provide ongoing staff support and encourage professional growth.
  • Obtain clinical feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with the Director of Operations and Human Resources as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional Governing Body interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Coordinate patient workflows and efficient schedules.
  • Support quality standards and regulatory compliance through continuous quality improvement tools and action plans.
  • Oversee staff training, risk management initiatives, licensure documentation, and in-service updates.
  • Manage facility staff workload and provide guidance and leadership.
  • Create and communicate employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Manage staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain documentation of disciplinary meetings and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, facility security, inventory, supplies, medication, laboratory resources, and physical plant safety.
  • Contribute to facility policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Direct information gathering for billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Supervise Charge Registered Nurses and direct patient care staff.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
