Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing quality experience is required.

  • The candidate must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to industrial equipment.
  • The candidate must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of die cast components.
  • Verify product conformance using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines when applicable.
  • Conduct visual inspections for porosity, cold shuts, flash, blisters, misruns, soldering, cracks, and dimensional nonconformance in die cast components.
  • Complete layered process audits, product audits, and inspection documentation.
  • Review production against engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Collect, record, and analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiate and document nonconforming material reports and assist with containment activities.
  • Support root cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with Production Part Approval Process activities, First Article Inspection inspections, capability studies, and gauge validation.
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits as required.
  • Verify compliance with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality management system requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues with production, engineering, supervisors, and customers when necessary.
  • Assist in developing and updating quality procedures, inspection instructions, and standard work.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a high-pressure die casting or metal manufacturing environment.
  • An associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or Quality.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine operation and programming.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control, Measurement Systems Analysis, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, and Production Part Approval Process documentation.
  • Knowledge of aluminum or magnesium die casting processes.
