WSP secures Wiltshire Council's £200M highways consultancy contract. Engineering and infrastructure solutions firm WSP has been awarded Wiltshire Council's term highways consultancy contract following a competitive procurement process. The contract will commence on 1 December 2026 and has an initial duration of six years, with options to extend for up to a maximum of ten years, subject to performance and council approval. According to the award notice, the contract is valued at £200M excluding VAT (£240M including VAT). The appointment will see WSP support the council in the planning, design and delivery of safe, sustainable and efficient highways and transport infrastructure across Wiltshire Centred around a locally based team operating from Trowbridge, "the partnership will bring day-to-day leadership, technical expertise and decision-making closer to the people and places the contract will serve", said a statement from WSP. More than 1,500 people contribute to Plymouth City Living vision. 10 August 2026 More than 1,500 people have helped shape the future vision for Plymouth city centre so far through the Plymouth City Living engagement programme, one of the largest and most ambitious engagement exercises ever undertaken to support a city centre development framework and masterplan in Plymouth. Led by Plymouth City Council in partnership with Homes England, WSP and the UK Government, the programme has brought together residents, businesses, community organisations and young people from across the city to share their ideas, aspirations and priorities for Plymouth's future. Over the past several months, more than 700 conversations have taken place at city centre and neighbourhood drop-in events, over 600 children and young people have contributed through Mission Mammoth STEAMFest and related activities, and hundreds more people have shared their views online and through direct feedback channels. Feedback has covered a wide range of topics, including housing, public spaces, transport, sustainability, culture, heritage, economic growth and community wellbeing, helping to build a strong evidence base for the emerging Development Framework and Masterplan.
