About Buttine Underwriters Agency LLC (BUA):
BUA, a division of SPG is managing general underwriter specializing in Contingency type products such as Event Cancellation, Prize Indemnity, Contractual Bonus and Weather insurance. We are based in Portsmouth, NH. We sell mostly to retail agencies across the country.
About the Position (BUA)
An ideal candidate for the Underwriter position will have experience in the Contingency field, with experience in Event Cancellation and Weather insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriter of Event Cancellation, Weather and marketing for PPI products
- Maintain existing broker relationships
- Recruit new broker relationships
- Handle incoming calls and emails from retail agents and carriers ensuring the highest level of customer service standards are met, bringing communication to a satisfactory resolution
- Release renewal quotes in accordance with established departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance and service level standards
- Proactively stay abreast of system changes and company guidelines
- Travel for underwriting and marketing purposes
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in various Carrier Rating Portals, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- High School graduate required; College courses preferred
- Previous work experience in the field of Contingency insurance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, independent work ethic with strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in dynamic environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
- Highly organized and able to structure day based on deadlines and pending items
- Self-motivated and goal oriented
- Strong organization skills, with a high level of detail orientation

This is a 100% remote working in the Eastern Time Zone.
Salary Transparency:
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
