Requirements
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Electrical-based apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or experience in a similar environment

Responsibilities
  • Carry out any mechanical (challenge) / electrical repairs (Bias) required by the engineering team, and/or shift manager
  • Identify early fault detection, quality defect systems and maintain effectiveness through zonal ownership
  • Support and guide the mechanical technical team to develop their engineering skills
  • Efficiently carry out the PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) to company standards
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes & machines
  • Innovative machine setup/modifications to make better
  • Hand over to the on-coming maintenance engineer and inform him/her of the state of the lines and of any in-progress repairs
  • Minimise waste by adopting lean principles and maintaining a clean and tidy work ethic.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with Ball requirements.
  • To adhere to ISO/BRC requirements

Ball Corporation has released its 2025 Combined Annual and Sustainability Report, highlighting record financial performance with comparable diluted earnings per share and adjusted free cash flow. The aluminium packaging company reported net sales of $13.16 billion and shipped 111.9 billion units worldwide. The company invested $474 million across its global operations and maintained strong sustainability metrics, with 74% of aluminium in its beverage packaging business sourced from recycled materials and 84% of electricity from renewable sources. Ball also increased its Aluminum Stewardship Initiative-certified purchases to 34%. The Ball Foundation invested over $4.1 million in community support, whilst employees contributed 24,000 volunteer hours. The company delivered 380,000 training hours through Ball Academy and launched three leadership programmes for 2,000 leaders.
