Requirements
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Candidates must be able to write code and independently build proof-of-concepts to test and demonstrate new Concept ideas.
Responsibilities
  • Advance a unified integration and API strategy across 3DS, Token, and emerging authentication methods to simplify customer integrations using established standards and industry norms.
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate feasibility, understand tradeoffs, and align on product requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting of complex product, integration, and customer implementation issues by helping frame problems, assess product impact, align stakeholders, and recommend resolution paths.
  • Identify cross-product synergies and recommend opportunities to reuse common APIs, platforms, tools, services, data models, and implementation patterns.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment, execution, and adoption of scalable authentication solutions.
  • Engage in client meetings to understand authentication pain points, integration challenges, and business needs while clearly balancing product, technical, and ecosystem limitations.
  • Participate in industry working groups through standards organizations to stay current on emerging authentication work and contribute to technical specifications, flows, and implementation guidance.
  • Translate client pain points into industry discussions while bringing relevant industry developments back into Visa’s authentication roadmap.
Desired Qualifications
  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Strong technical fluency with authentication flows, APIs, data elements, message flows, product capabilities, and integration patterns.
  • Experience defining product requirements, use cases, flows, acceptance criteria, solution recommendations, or roadmap inputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical, business, client, industry, and leadership audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across matrixed product, technology, client-facing, regional, operational, and/or industry teams.
  • Experience with authentication, identity, payment authentication, or digital payment technologies, such as 3-D Secure, tokenization, passkeys/WebAuthn, MFA, SSO/OAuth/SAML, Secure Payment Confirmation (SPC), or Digital Payment Credentials (DPC).
  • Experience participating in industry working groups, standards bodies, technical forums, or cross-company ecosystem initiatives.
  • Experience writing, reviewing, or contributing to technical specifications, implementation guides, operating rules, standards documents, or ecosystem requirements.
