The Role
 

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our energetic, results-oriented Engineering team, making a highly visible contribution to the end-to-end delivery of a multi-million dollar product offering.  They will work closely with local Engineers in Belfast and global Product Management, as part of an Agile team driving rapid growth through high-quality, on-time feature releases that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.

Your day-to-day

• Assume the role of an Intern Software Engineer on a team working on the leading Email Security product suite on the market

• Play an important role in the delivery of ambitious new features and products from Engineering through to Production

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management resources to analyse and refine requirements

• Contribute to the build out of our CI/CD software delivery process to support the end-to-end delivery of world class software

What you bring to the team

You have the ability and interest in working full time (a maximum of 40 hours/week) in our Belfast office and are currently on track to achieve 2:1 degree classification upon graduation. This internship is schedule to start approximately June 2024 and run to 30th May 2025.

• Exposure to or desire to learn, a wide range of technologies, including:

  • REST, Java, React, PHP, Perl, AWS, SQL, MIME, SMTP, Linux, Puppet, Terraform
     

• A desire to play a major role in the delivery of complex, high value projects

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Desirable

• Exposure to Linux

• An understanding of agile software delivery

• A keen interest in the cybersecurity domain

• Knowledge of email technology, including MTAs (e.g. Postfix), MX records and SMTP
