Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Zero to three years of relevant experience is required; internship experience is acceptable.
  • An Engineer-in-Training certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within 6–12 months.
  • A strong interest in transmission line engineering and infrastructure projects is required.
  • The role requires the ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • The role requires the ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of overhead transmission lines, including plan and profile development, structure spotting support, and basic drafting and design tasks.
  • Support engineering calculations such as sag and tension analysis and clearance checks.
  • Learn and utilize industry software tools such as PLS-CADD.
  • Assist in preparing engineering drawings, reports, and material lists.
  • Coordinate with internal structural, environmental, and survey teams.
  • Participate in field visits and site assessments as needed.
  • Support quality control processes and documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to PLS-CADD or similar engineering software.
  • Familiarity with basic engineering design principles and standards.
  • Internship or coursework related to power delivery or structural design.

EIP-backed Guardian Infrastructure Services acquires E2 Consulting Engineers to expand utility services platform

Guardian Infrastructure Services, a utility-focused infrastructure platform backed by Energy Impact Partners, has acquired E2 Consulting Engineers, a leading provider of engineering and technical consulting services to electric and gas utilities across North America. Founded in 1988 by Hersh Saluja, E2 provides engineering, project management, inspection and field support services for critical utility infrastructure programmes including transmission reliability, wildfire mitigation, pipeline safety and grid investment initiatives. The acquisition significantly expands Guardian's engineering and technical services capabilities. The deal reflects EIP's strategy of building a scaled utility infrastructure services platform supporting grid modernisation, resiliency and energy transition programmes. Guardian plans to pursue growth through organic expansion and selective acquisitions adding complementary services. TD Cowen served as financial adviser to E2, whilst A&O Shearman and Nixon Peabody provided legal counsel.
