Requirements
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience for Lead position
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience for Senior position
  • A mixture of design firm, operating company or construction related experience (within the market sector)
  • Extensive experience with applicable Industry or Regulatory Guidance and local building codes
Responsibilities
  • Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from a discipline design perspective on large complex projects.
  • Works with Project Manager on proposal development, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on intermediate level projects.
  • Leads interactions with clients, internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Oversees the discipline at a project level and manages the project discipline budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes.
  • Conducts quality checking of documents for complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation) and drives overall project quality.
  • Coordinates with internal and external parties, manages multiple complex tasks, establishes priorities and directs the work of others.
  • Develops and delivers intermediate level internal discipline design and engineering training presentations.
  • Directs and manages the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectations and project goals.
  • Oversees the production of deliverables or leads activities which require more experience, deeper understanding or involve more complexity such as: Layout Development for Utility Rooms; Space Planning for Pipe Routing; Capacity Planning/Expansion Strategy; Complex Vendor Package Management; Participation in or facilitation of Risk Assessments, HAZOPs / HCCPs / Etc.; 3D Model Review and Coordination; Site Walkdowns and Field Reports; Commissioning and Startup
